Our Story Who We Are Mike Railey, CEO

In the late 1990s, Mike Railey tried his hand at tow-in surfing. He loved the new sport but not the hassle of renting or buying a PWC to tow him into the waves.

Powered boards had been around since the 60's but had always been too heavy for any kind of real performance. Mike believed he had a better solution and began experimenting with lightweight propulsion in ordinary surfboards. He created numerous prototypes and applied for a patent that was published in 2007.

Mike continued experimenting and refining the technology. In 2011, Mike got his third patent and also has three new patents in the works.

Since then, WaveJet has been tested by top surfers, industry leaders and California Lifeguards and has gotten rave reviews. Set to launch in surfboards, bodyboards and SUPs in May 2012 and kayaks and other products in 2013, WaveJet is poised to revolutionize Personal Watercrafts of all kinds.
